Black Hawk to Aurora by way of Castle Rock

An unexpected meeting with a dear old friend

Our old dependable MPV needed a lube and a wash, badly. And at last night's most enjoyable dinner with Palmer and Linda Beam, he mentioned that our old boss Arne Gudheim had invested in a car wash in Castle Rock, a bit south of where we were going, but hey, true loyalties last forever, so we headed south on Route 25, without any idea of where it might be.

A bit of a detour, but a most enjoyable one.

Once in Castle Rock, our GPS Patty Trip located MotoSpa, which we found was a lube shop and car wash combined, just what the doctor ordered.

MotoSpa--our old friend Arne Gudheim's Castle Rock auto service emporium.

The lube side of MotoSpa--there's our thankful old bus on the left.

As we drove in, we noticed a gentleman picking up loose papers in the driveway. He stared at our Massachusetts license plate; we stared at him. It was Arne, who was always Bob to us.

A wonderful reunion. Note the kid toys in the foreground--a marketing genius.

At last, a visit with our son Arthur

After a delightful lunch at Red Robin with Arne, we headed back north to Aurora, and a visit with our younger son, Arthur, first at the daycare center where he works, if you can call being with those delightful toddlers work, and later, with his cats, Stephanie and Sertia:

Sertia and Stepanie; twins, but definitely not identical.

We took some pix at the Olive Garden where we had a most pleasant dinner together--after all, we're family--but Arthur, as handsome as he is, isn't wild about having his picture on the internet, so we respect his wishes. (Also, our phone pix didn't come out well in the low lighting at OG.)

Tomorrow: we'll see Arthur again, and more of Denver.
